This Privacy Policy describes how Vaktim ("the app"), developed by Enes Kaplan ("we", "us"), handles information when you use the app on your iPhone. The short version: Vaktim does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data. The app has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising.
1. Data we collect
None. We do not collect any personal data. Vaktim does not require an account, does not include analytics or tracking SDKs, does not show ads, and does not send any information about you or your device to us or to third parties.
2. Location
Vaktim asks for location permission for exactly two purposes: calculating your local prayer times and calculating the Qibla direction. Both calculations happen entirely on your device. Your location is never transmitted anywhere, is not stored on any server, and is not accessible to us. You may decline location access; the app's location-dependent features will then be unavailable until permission is granted in iOS Settings.
3. Data stored on your device
The app stores the following data locally on your iPhone only:
- Your preferences (language, madhhab, reminder settings, prayer time adjustments, last known location label and coordinates)
- Your prayer history (which prayers you marked as completed, by date)
This data never leaves your device. You can erase it at any time from Settings → Data inside the app (Reset Prayer History / Reset Onboarding), or by deleting the app, which removes all of it permanently. There is no server copy.
4. Notifications
If you enable prayer reminders, notifications are scheduled locally by iOS on your device. No notification data is sent to us or to any third party.
5. Third-party services
Vaktim uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app relies only on Apple's iOS system frameworks (location, notifications, widgets), which are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. When the device converts your coordinates into a human-readable place name (reverse geocoding), this is performed through Apple's operating system services on the device.
6. Children's privacy
Vaktim does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for all ages.
7. Your rights
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on our side — your data lives only on your device and is under your direct control. 8. Changes to this policy
If Vaktim's data practices ever change, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the App Store release notes.
